Sandra Bullock was born Sandra Annette Bullock on July 26, 1964, in a suburb of Washinton, D.C.. Bullock's father is from Alabama. He was a contractor for the Pentagon and a voice coach. Sandra's mother was an opera singer. Sandra's beloved mother died of cancer in 2000.

Sandra Bullock's grandfather was a rocket scientist from Germany. Bullock grew up in Nuernberg, Germany until she was twelve years old. Sandra is fluent in German. Sandra sang in the children's choir in Nuernberg. Sandra accompanied her mother when her mother performed for the opera and traveled all around Europe with her mother. Bullock studied both ballet and singing as a child. Bullock even had small parts in her mother's opera tours.

After moving to the United States, Sandra was a cheerleader and performed in school plays while attending high school. She was voted "Most Likely to Brighten Up Your Day" while in high school. After graduating in 1982, she attended East Carolina University in North Carolina. Bullock went to school until her senior year, when she dropped out of college to pursue acting. Sandra later finished her degree and got a bachelor's degree.

Bullock relocated to Manhattan while trying to get acting jobs. She worked as a bartender and waitress to support herself. Sandra took acting classes at The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. She is one of the last actors to have studied under the infamous acting coach, Sanford Meisner.

Bullock's first movie was the television movie, "Bionic Showdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman" in 1989. Soon after making the movie, Bullock relocated to Los Angeles, California. Sandra Bullock started getting small parts in several films. She landed a lead role on the NBC sitcom "Working Girl" in 1990.

Sandra's first important role was in the movie "Demolition Man". This role led to her playing a leading role in "Speed" opposite Keanu Reeves in 1994. "Speed" landed Bullock other roles which would lead to her stardom. She starred in "While You Were Sleeping", "Two Weeks Notice", "The Net", "Speed 2", "Miss Congeniality", and "Miss Congeniality 2" in short succession.

Sandra Bullock co-starred in the movie "Crash" in 2004. She received critical acclaim for her role in the film. Sandra appeared again with her "Speed" co-star, Keanu Reeves, for the romantic movie "The Lake House". Sandra played the author Harper Lee in the movie "Infamous" in 2006. Bullock starred in the thriller movie "Premonition" in 2007.

Sandra Bullock has dated many co-stars. She was engaged to fellow actor Tate Donovan after working with him on the set of the film "Love Potion No. 9". They dated for four years before calling it quits. Bullock has also dated co-stars Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Gosling.

Sandra Bullock married Jesse James, the famous host of the television show, "Monster Garage". They got married in a surprise wedding at sunset on July 16, 2005 in California. They met through Bullock's godson, who was a fan of Jesse's. As a Christmas gift to her godson, Sandra arranged for him to meet Jesse James.

Sandra Bullock has donated two million dollars to the American Red Cross and spent all day sending emails to families of people that were hospitalized during September 11, 2001.

Sandra Bullock has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sandra has formed her own production company, Fortis Films. She hired her sister and father to run the company. Sandra is executive producer of the television sitcom "The George Lopez Show". She now commands high figures for her movies. She has been named one of the richest women in Hollywood, according to Forbes magazine. It doesn't look like the curtain will be closing anytime soon for Sandra Bullock.
