2008 MINI
The New Mac Minis are being announced at Macworld 2009. According to Wired magazine, they have confirmed rumors that Apple will be revealing the brand new Mac Minis at Macworld 2009. This is big news for fans of the Mac Mini that has already been on the market for a few years, and great news for consumers interested in purchasing an updated version of the famous Mac Mini product. Rumors about a new Mac Mini had been leaked for weeks.
The Mac Mini is, of course, a great desktop computer that Apple has produced to save space for its customers. The size of the computer "box" is the huge selling point of the original Mac Mini, as the box (pictured above) only measures about 6 1/2 by 2 inches. It also weighs less than three pounds, making it a computer that can be not only placed in a small location, but moved around by anyone who has purchased one.
The Apple Mac Mini is also one of the products that ships with Apple's Mac OS X Leopard operating system, and is sold with the intent of being a replacement system for consumers that already have the peripherals and were just looking to move over to a much more compact system.
The main rumor floating around about the new Mac Mini is that the updated look of the computer will bare a close resemblance to the aluminum and black scheme that Apple has been using with its new MacBooks and iMacs. The move is an obvious attempt to re-classify the product line and put it in closer familiar standings to many of the other things being sold.
The same rumors that Wired Magazine has been reporting also note that the Mac Mini will be shipped with a SATA optical drive, and will also have a Mini Display Port connecter as well as a Mini DVI Connector. The reason for this would be too hook up the new Mac Mini to two displays at the same time, and could really open it up as a usable product for more consumers.
It is thought that these rumors will all be confirmed at the Macworld Expo 2009 taking place January 5-9 in San Francisco, California.
