Tweed Run General Store – is a pop-up boutique in Tokyo's Ebisu district.
Tweed Run General Store (part of Wild Life Taylor), is devoted to Tweed styles for the well-dressed gentlemen – perhaps one who is ready to go off on a Tweed Bicycle Run or Tweed Ride?! These photos were taken in December when lots of festivities and parties happened at the shop...“Shosuke Ishizu, one of the patriarchs of Ivy Style in Japan, was on hand to be an unofficial participant in a talk show. A host of gentlemen enjoyed themselves at a party held afterward.”-- via Rei Shito
What I love about these photos is the exceptional Tweed Bicycle Style worn by these dapper gents! I'm sure the shop was quite the scene. I hope all is going well and forward! If I could I would certainly shop there. Please Remember....
Nagoya also had their inaugural Tweed Bicycle Run the same exact day as Osaka. My original intention was to post this for you in short order – just following my original post on Osaka’s Tweed Run that published on 3/9. Fashion we wear, the choice in the bicycle we ride is how we define ourselves, to ourselves and others on the outside -- to me looking at these photos, the delight in the very personal expressions of each and every person in these photo lets me know there is a connection to something bigger here. Sheer, joyful inspiration comes to mind. I do not fear offering superficiality in these horrific times. Quite the opposite. I want to bring attention, love and support to the people of Japan in whatever small measure that I can. Thrilling photos of Osaka Japan's inaugural Tweed Run! What more can I say...There were close to 400 photos to look through from this day -- the ones I am sharing with you are my favorites. kkuwajimam, the photographers Kazuki Watanabe and Kaoru Kuwajima have done a fine job. Well, I did my best (in editing) to help tell the story of surely what was a most spectacular Tweed Run! Honestly, I am so impressed with the Tweed bicycle fashion styles seen here -- and worn so well by everyone. If you notice throughout the photos (and are able to spot it), there is a small patch or badge. Apparently all the Tweed bicycle riders were given one. I thought it was the nicest touch. That very same badge graphic was used on the invite as well. If are you curious enough go to the Tweed Ride Report, just scroll down to find the invite for the Osaka Tweed Run -- then you'll know what I'm pointing out here. I just think it's such a good idea! I would LOVE to have that badge to add to my Tweed Ride spokes card collection...
Quick Note -- The Tweed Ride Report has been updated with the new 2011 February Tweed Ride invites, and the correspondingly appropriate points of contact-- be it FaceBook, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogs, what have you. Now to get working on the upcoming March Tweed Rides! I'm still waiting to receive more of the invite flyers / spokes cards for these ride to come in. So far these invites continue to delight and amaze me. What talent!

Tweed Ride! Oh, My....A good number of Tweed Rides occurred during October and November -- here are photos from some of those rides. They come from quite a range of places and as viewed through the eyes of some very fine photographers. Who says you can't ride a bicycle and wield a camera too!
Enjoy!

Further thoughts on this particular offering of Tweed Ride photos-- I'm just so smitten with everyone's talents. Really Philadelphia has more than it's fair share represented here, just check out their group flickr pool of no less than 10 contributors to that one ride alone. Also much heartfelt thanks to everyone who so quickly and enthusiastically offered up their photos! And as a final thought-- you dear reader, really owe it to your self to go visit each of the links to see many, many more fine photos from that particular photographer and/or from that Ride. ***There are more photos of more rides I want to share with you. Hmmh, I'm still working on catching up. More photos to come next week (or so) that is when I return from some travels I'm off on.
