Lamborghini launches new Murcielago LP 670-4 in India

Lamborghini, an Italian luxury car maker today launched a limited addition of its popular sports car Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce in India with a price tag of Rs 3.6 crore (ex-showroom). The new Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce comes loaded with a 6.5 litre V12 petrol engine along with a maximum power of 670 horsepower. The new car is available with a breath-taking acceleration, that takes only 3.2 seconds to reach-up to a speed of 100 km/h from a stand still position. It is coming with a top speed of 342 km/h.

Exclusive Motors is the only dealer of Lamborghini in India, and operates from Delhi. Mr Satya Bagla, Exclusive Motors Managing Director, said on the occasion that company is thrilled to launch the limited edition of Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce for its discerning customers. With its outstanding performance, razor-sharp precision and exceptional high-speed stability, the car is the ultimate performer for advanced sports car drivers.

The new Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce model will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) in India from the company's facility in Sant'Agata in Italy. The company will roll-out only 350 units of this car in the Indian market. The car has an amazingly designed sporty exterior and the factory fitted upward opening doors add glitter to the gold. The body of the car has been built with lightweight materials and hi-tech carbon fiber, while the roof and exterior door panels are made of sheet steel.

Proton to launch a small car in India

The Malasyian car maker Proton is soon going to launch its first car in the Indian market. The car would be a small car and is expected to be based on the EMAS concept recently showcased at the Geneva Auto Show. There are speculations that the car is designed by Italdesign Giugiaro of Italy. The hatchback would offer comfortable seating for 4 adults and would measure 3,550-mm length.



The the EMAS concept displayed at the Geneva Auto show would be used by Proton to develop many small cars for small car markets like India and China, informed the company sources. The top officials from the company quoted that the key markets Proton is focusing on, these days are India, China, Asean and the Middle East.

The reason behind the focus on these markets is the sizeability and the potential for growth. The company has already been in touch with some of the original equipment manufacturers and contract-assembly service providers. The company also mentioned that it wishes to make the most of time and reach Indian markets as soon as possible.

Apart from the small car for the Indian market, another small car in the company's global portfolio is the Savvy. The engine of this car is sourced from Renault. The same is supposed to be extended for Indian markets as well that is, the engine for the upcoming car might me sourced from Renault.

Its been more than a decade now that the company has been looking forward to debut in the Indian market. Initially there were news that the company is in talks with Hindustan Motors to take up a joint venture which was later shelved due to some financial constraints.

Coming year to witness series of Car launches

With some of the most popular car brands ready to launch a number of cars in the coming year, there is a lot that the car buyers can look upto. Buyers across all segments would be able to rejoice as there is something for each segment. The most interesting part is that most of them are not mere face-lifts or modifications, rather they would all be completely newly built models. One of the most popular cars ready to launch in near future is Skoda Yeti, an extremely popular SUV across Europe.

Although the exact price and the launch date has not been disclosed till now, the car is expected to launch soon. It is however expected that the car would be priced in the range of Skoda Laura. Another utility vehicle to launch in a couple of months is Tata Aria. The car was disclosed in the Auto Expo 2010 and was intimated to be launched in the price bracket of 12 Lakhs.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, is what the rally drivers across the world swear by. It would finally be after a long wait that the car would be launching in India. Although there no exact dates available but the car might launch by the end of the year. It is speculated that the car would be bought in as a completely built in unit and that might result in higher costs.

For the customers of hatchback segment there is something really interesting coming up as Nissan is soon to launch Nissan Micra on the Indian shores. The car is expected to be manufactured at the Chennai facility of the company and it might launch in the month of July 2010. Other interesting cars that are expected to launch this year are Maruti Suzuki Kizashi, Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Etios, Audi A8 and many more would soon join the league.
