Govt. of India hikes fuel prices in India

Government of India has hiked fuel prices in India on Friday, now the middle class people will have to spend more unhappily on this necessity. The fuel prices have been increased by 3.73 per litre on Petrol and up to Rs. 3 per litre on diesel and all the increased prices have been applied from the last night. At this time, is not easy to thought about purchase a new bike in India. India's two-wheeler manufacturers have launched many two-wheelers in India and they are also worried about their performance in the auto market. Because the fuel price hike is really a big issue for the two-wheeler players in India.

On the other hand, Major two-wheeler players are planning to introduce their new hybrid vehicles like TVS Streak hybrid which is coming soon in the Indian auto market. Besides, the households will have to spend an advanced Rs. 35 per gas cylinder and kerosene will also be rose by Rs 3 a litre. The decision was taken by the EGoM oriented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherejee. In a major decision to bring petroleum products in line with market rates, the government on Friday freed petrol from all pricing controls and hiked diesel prices by Rs two a litre, Oil Secretary S Sundareshan announced after the meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers.

List of 2010 upcoming bikes in India

The year 2010-11 is full of joy for bike enthusiasts as a number of new bike models are ready to Introduce in the Indian auto market. One of the major two-wheeler maker, India Yamaha Motor is all set to launch its New premium motorcycles and scooters in India including Yamaha SZ, Yamaha BWs(premium scooter) and Yamaha YZF R125. The new Yamaha SZ will be pitted against newly launched Bajaj Platina 125, Honda CB Twister, Bajaj Pulsar 135LS and Bajaj Discover 100cc.

Yamaha Motor has not yet announced on the launch date and price tag of the company's upcoming bike, Yamaha SZ. But, according to the some news sources that it is expected to be launched in the month of September 2010 and will be available around Rs.55,000. Other leading two-wheeler major like Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has recently launched a new sportier version of its flagship bike model, Honda Unicorn.

Suzuki GSXR

The new version of Unicorn is named as Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler. It is priced at Rs. 62,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). Besides, the company is also planning to launched another superbike Honda VFR 1200F soon in India. Apart from HMSI, Suzuki Motorcycles has also rolled out its two new high end capacity spuerbikes in the auto market that include Suzuki Bandit 1250S and Suzuki GSX-R1000 with comes at an expansive prices.

Piaggio Vespa Lx

Piaggio, India's leading commerical vehicles manufacturer, will not be behind and geared up to launch new Piaggio Vespa LX125 scooter in India in the next two year. TVS Motor has launched India's first made gear-less motorcycle, TVS Jive in India. While the company introduced another cutting-edge gearless scooter in India, called as TVS Wego.

Raise fuel rates may change the buying startegy

Raise fuel rates may change the buying strategy of bike costumers in India. According to Honda motorcycle and scooter India, the average monthly ride by the rider is around 1500km and rider expend around Rs.750. If the fuel prices will increase up to Rs.3 than it direct effect on consumer. In India most of the bike buyer prefers on mileage, if the prices will increase the buyer gone towards 100cc to 110cc bikes.

The 100cc to 110cc bike gives an average mileage of 75-80km/ltr. Naresh Rattan, Vice president (marketing and sales), HMSI told that if any changes will made on fuel prices it will emotional effect on the buyer, the two wheeler buyer's first mindset on fuel efficiency of the bike. The Indian major two wheeler selling companies Bajaj auto and Hero Honda told that, about economy bikes, the number of enquiries had been increase after the government announcement that they may hike fuel rates. Milind Bade, general manager (marketing and sales), two wheeler, Bajaj auto told that they believed this change in preference will be temporary.

Vespa LX 125 to be launched by 2012

Italian based scooter & Motorcycles manufacturer, Piaggio Group may launched its new Vespa LX 125 model in India by the end of 2012. The company Board of Directors of Piaggio Mr. Roberto Colaninno & C. S.p.A. accepted the strategic guidelines and industrial plan of a new Piaggio Group opening in India for the manufacturing and sale of two-wheelers. The company will initially start developing its new Vespa LX 125 model specially for the Indian auto market.



The plan was sanctioned on 6th June 2010 by the Piaggio Board of Directors Provides for the building of a new facility in India with the production capacity of around 150,000 units of two-wheelers annually. The company plans to invest 30 million euro in the current financial year (2010-11). The company aims to get revenues of approximately 70 million euro in 2015. On the other hand, there are many scooters that are performing well in the country including Honda Activa, Honda Eterno, Honda Aviator, Mahindra Rodeo etc.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) dominates the Scooters segment in the country and it is standing at the top level of scooters in the auto market. Piaggio hopes that the new Vespa LX 125 will give a tough competition to Honda Activa, Honda Aviator and Mahindra Rodeo. Meanwhile, India Yamaha Motor is also planning to launch a new premium scooter and motorcycle in the Indian auto market including Yamaha SZ, Yamaha BWs and Yamaha YZF R125.

The all new Vibgyor Shark soon in India

Kolkata based bike manufacturer, Vibgyor Vehicles intending to launch its all new Vibgyor Shark 150cc soon in India. The company has already introduced its Gallop 100cc bike in a few states of India. The new Shark 150cc was launched by Sourav Ganguly at the 10th Anniversary of Delhi Auto Expo 2010, but commercial launch has not been yet announced by the company. According to some website reports that the new Vibgyor Shark is expected to be launched by the month of July 2010. The new model has been produced by the vibgyor's own Research & Developing team. The bike is installed with an 4-stroke, SOHC, air cooled, single cylinder engine. The engine of Vibgyor Shark produces a maximum power of 13.05 PS at 9,500 rpm while develops a top torque of 9.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

The new Vibgyor Shark will be available around Rs. 49,990. It is to fight with Hero Honda Hunk, Bajaj Pulsar 150, TVS Apache and Yamaha FS-16 and Honda Unicorn in the Indian auto market. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto has recently launched a new version of Bajaj Discover with 150cc displacement. Bajaj Discover 150cc is priced at Rs. 46,000(ex-showroom Delhi). While, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has also introduced a new latest version of Unicorn, Honda CB Dazzler in India with the price tag of Rs. 62,900.
