Skoda released new rally car 2011 | Skoda Fabia R2

After launching the Fabia Super 2000 rally car in January last, the Czech car manufacturer, Skoda again presents another motorsport derived from the same model.

The new rally car Skoda Fabia R2 alerts in 2011. As the name suggests, is ready for use in the rally category R2.

"The car was developed, extensively tested and ready for use in demonstrations for nearly two years," said Skoda.

Rally car Skoda Fabia R2 is based on the model series, the difference is only in the engine, undercarriage, axle kinematics, and gearbox.

Carrying the 1600 cc 16-valve engine, capable of producing up to 177 hp maximum power and torque of 194 Nm (143 lb.ft.) at 5,500 rpm, the front wheel with five-speed sequential transmission of Sadev.

In addition, the electronic machines are handled by Magneti-Marelli and the car has received homologation FIA rally last month.

"It's nice that from now on, we offer a free car rally so customers looking for car racing affordable and reliable. Given the tradition of our success and development in the sports cars outside the Czech Republic, the new Fabia R2 only logical outcome of our activities. I am convinced that model will be successful like the Fabia Super 2000 already is today. New Cars - Skoda reveals new Octavia vRS & Scout

Skoda has today released the first official images of its facelifted Octavia vRS and Octavia Scout.

Following the launch of the new Octavia late last year, the vRS and Scout have now also been updated to bring them into line with the current range and family face of Škoda.

The facelifted vRS has a redesigned front grille featuring the vRS logo and bold headlamps, which for the first time can be fitted with xenon headlights combined with the adaptive front lighting system.

The car has two more completely new features: front fog lamps with optional cornering function and LED lamps for daytime lighting. The rear lights have also been redesigned to look more attractive and new 18-inch Neptune alloy wheels are available.

Other changes to the vRS include a new metallic paint, Anthracite, and a lowered (now 127mm) sports-tuned chassis. The car is also lighter – the petrol version by 20kg and the diesel by 15kg. With reduced air resistance the maximum speed of the vRS is now higher and the car’s responsiveness and acceleration have also been improved.

The vRS is available with a choice of two powerplants, a 2.0-litre TFSI 150kW (petrol) or a 2.0-litre TDI 126kW (diesel) engine both of which are available with a six-speed manual twin-clutch DSG transmission.

The new Scout has a redesigned front grille, bold headlamps and body-coloured side mouldings. The front fog lights can be fitted with the optional cornering function and the large front bumper emphasises the car’s rugged appearance. A new metallic paint, Rosso Brunello, is also available across the Octavia range.

With 179mm ground clearance and efficient chassis protection, the Octavia Scout can also handle itself off-road. The all-wheel drive system features the fourth-generation Haldex clutch, which can transfer as much as 86 per cent of the torque to a single wheel.

The Scout is available with two engine choice, a 1.8-litre TSI 119kW (petrol) and 2.0-litre TDI 104kW (diesel) combined with a six-speed mechanical transmission.

Production Skoda Yeti revealed at Geneva and Delhi Motor Show

Volkswagen's Skoda doesn't get much press in the U.S. but over in Central and Eastern Europe it is one of the most popular automotive brands. Having launched new versions of its mainstream Octavia and Superb sedans in the past year, the company has now announced that it will further expand its lineup with the all-new Yeti compact SUV, which will be making its world debut in production trim at this week’s Geneva Motor Show.

The Yeti is based on the previous concept of the same name that was introduced in 2005 and has been designed for both urban and leisure driving. Both FWD and AWD variants are available, though the majority of the predicted 50,000 annual sales will be the AWD models.

The 4.2m long, five-door vehicle bears the well-known and distinctive features of the brand. It has a robust and solid look, sits on 17in alloy wheels, and boxy silhouette that adds to its tough appearance. The luggage compartment offers up to 1,760L of storage and seating capacity has been designed for five adults.

Two petrol and three diesel engines are on offer. The entry-level model features a petrol engine with four cylinders and 1.2L capacity. The compact engine delivers 105bhp (77kW) and is mated to a FWD layout. Other engine options include a 1.8L unit with 160hp (118kW), and three 2.0L common-rail diesels ranging from 110hp (81kW) to 170hp (125kW).

Skoda will also use the Geneva event to showcase a new fuel-efficient ‘GreenLine’ edition of its Octavia sedan, as well as the new Fabia Scout, and a range of new concept vehicles grouped under a new ‘EMO’ emotional expression theme.
